What makes you a Culturati?
My interest in different cultural customs and beliefs is what makes me a Culturati. Having grown up in the Bay Area, I’ve had the privilege to meet people from many different backgrounds and hear about the history, stories and even myths that are shared in their families. I come from a multi-cultural background (Filipino & Vietnamese), and I’ve enjoyed learning about my cultures in this way. I think these aspects of a culture are what drive certain decisions and how a person might carry themselves. Observing these things help me understand others better, and I believe this is key in creating a more harmonious society.
How did you discover your Culturati nature?
I was born into a multi-cultural family from the get-go, so the first discovery was through the amazing food I grew up eating (the obsession continues to this day!!). But another way I discovered my Culturati nature was when I was an organizer for the Filipino Student Organization at UC Santa Cruz. Here, I had the opportunity to co-produce our cultural show and recognize the deep symbolism and archetypes in the stories that reflect aspects of our human nature. I’ve been fascinated ever since.
What type of Culturati are you?
I’m a nature loving Culturati. I love exploring the outdoors and believe that nature and the elements are the greatest allies to our humanity. I also love to witness when people incorporate nature into their culture and everyday lives, whether that be through fashion jewelry, landscaping, interior design, and so many other ways.
What makes you a good Culturati Project Manager?
I love discovering the “why’s” behind decision-making and what makes people tick. My interest in this is what keeps me motivated in discovering, developing, and communicating this information. My education in Philosophy and Merchandise Product Development along with my experience as an Executive Assistant in fast-paced companies allows me to have both a flexible and organized approach with what comes my way. Along with that, my entrepreneurial background in holistic wellness, photography and design pushes me to stay on top of the responsibilities I am given. I’ve had to wear many hats to succeed and trust that my past experiences will continue to allow me to do so.
