What makes you a Culturati?

What makes me Culturati is that not only am I interested in culture and multicultural activities, but I am bicultural. I grew up living in San Diego, in a Mexican household. Growing up in a border state where I had immediate access to my Mexican culture not only at home, but 20 minutes away in Tijuana really submerged me in the bicultural experience. I constantly surround myself with Latinos, while also interacting with the American culture. I experience multicultural activities in my everyday life and it is something that just comes naturally to me.

How did you discover your Culturati nature?

I was born into a multicultural environment. Being born in San Diego but into a Mexican family made me grow up with these experiences. Although I always speak Spanish at home with friends and family, I always went to school in San Diego and spoke English there. A lot of what I learned in school was based on the American culture, but I always went back home to my Mexican culture. I always keep my Mexican culture alive whether I am in Tijuana or San Diego.

What type of Culturati are you?

I am an active and creative Culturati. I tend to spend a lot of time outdoors and doing lots of activities. I get bored very easily, so I like to be doing something constantly. Whether it is going to the beach, gym, or going on long hikes, you will always find me staying active.
I also love being creative and trying new things and I use my creativity in many forms. I like to express myself using fashion and design. My creativity is also implemented into creating content for many social media platforms. I always try to think outside of the box and showcase something in a way that represents me.

What makes you a good Culturati Project Manager?

I am a strong Culturati Project Manager because I know the experience of growing up Latina in the United States. I clearly understand the Latino culture and the mainstream culture based on my personal experience and insight I have of being bicultural. I am very familiar with the Hispanic consumer which is one of the demographic segments that we focus on; therefore, I can implement my knowledge of the Latino culture combines with general market into the Culturati projects that I manage.
